When my dream client first told me she wanted a party dress based on this artist, I knew this was going to be a piece to remember. Niki de Saint Phalle, one of the most original and incredible female artists of the 20th century, was a wonderful place to start. Famous for her ”Nana” women and imaginative creatures, herwork jumps out of the canvas with color and movement. |

Like her, the creative act for many of us is a means to calm and release the frenetic creative energy within us. With my client’s passion for the artist, my love of embroidery, and Niki’s artworks, the three of us formed a creative synergy bond and transformed a dress into a piece of art. A bursting voluptuous female made of colorful beads, sequins and crystals against a psychedelic backdrop. |
| Just like the Nanas, the dress leaped into existence and joined a long history of art that allows us to contemporize and continue the legacy of the artists that came before us and inspire creators to come after us. What more could I ask for? |  |
